Writing Coach

I offer coaching services to writers who need help moving their projects forward.

I worked on my published creative works, including my debut novel, The Cine Star Salon, while balancing a day job (or two) and other commitments. I understand the challenges that come with carving time for creative pursuits and staying on track until the finish line.

If you have a writing project that needs a big push, I would love to hear about it. I offer a free 20-minute chat to learn more about your project, working style, expectations, etc. If it sounds like a great fit, we will proceed as follows:

  • You choose how long we will work together. Packages are for four (4), six (6), or eight (8) weeks. Please note that I require a 50% deposit at the beginning of our contract.
  • At the start of each week, you will submit a 2500-word passage from your work in progress.
  • Within the same week, we will arrange a 45-minute Zoom meeting/phone call during which we will discuss your submission, challenges, questions, etc. My feedback will be tailored according to your work and specific concerns you’ve brought forward.
  • In the following weeks, you can send me a revised version of the earlier submission or a new passage.
  • During our time together, I’m within reach by email to answer questions, celebrate wins, and help keep you accountable, if requested.
  • We will discuss next steps about your work before the end of our contract.

Rates: 4 Weeks – $640 | 6 Weeks – $900 | 8 Weeks – $1,100

Leah has worked with me on two of my pieces and both times her suggestions and ideas have transformed my writing. I believe that one of my creative non-fiction stories got published in a literary magazine because of her suggestions. Work with her! She is the best. Karen Segal

Leah’s coaching kept me accountable and helped me reach my goal: finish the arc of my main character. She was supportive, encouraging and gave thoughtful feedback that challenged me to work on craft skills like description and pacing. She flagged character inconsistencies and offered tips to make plot developments organic. Leah also followed up on questions during our meetings and provided concrete examples. I would recommend her for anyone seeking a thoughtful and skilled coach who wants to see meaningful progress in their manuscript. – Jann Lee
